About Me

Hello, my name is Tehya Young. I am a Native-born Californian, but Arizonan resident, currently at the age of twenty years. I grew up in a small town where I spent most of my time playing tea time with fairies as a kid and building miniature tee-pee Indian sets to role play as Princess Tiger Lily in Peter Pan with my friends. I spent most my childhood outdoors, read a million different fantasy books, my main favorites being Lord of the Rings, Narnia, and Spider-wick Chronicles, and rolled down hills on roller skates and mod peds with all the kids on my block all while door bell ditching. I fell into a trash bin one time because of this--I truly thought of myself as a daredevil kid LMAFO. 

There was a never end to the imaginative play of wonder. It developed into hiding away in the canopy of the tree and losing myself in

classic literature for hours. My love for reading transformed into a love for writing

stories to help inspire others and to bring others into moments of happiness and

joy. Because that's what books did for me, and I wanted to implement that same feeling on to others. 

I have always relied on the three most instrumental parts of my life which

have inspired me to write: my faith, family, and friendships. But of all these things,

God is what truly compelled me to write in the spirit of hope and in difficult times of

hardships. Because "your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God" - Leo Buscaglia.
